About This App

The YouTube Channel Monitor is a desktop app that keeps you in the loop with your favourite YouTube creators. It checks channels on a schedule you choose and alerts you when someone goes live or publishes a new video—so you can rely on your own checks instead of YouTube’s often delayed or inconsistent notifications.

Monitor tab. See live streams and recent uploads in one place. Add as many channels as you like by handle (e.g. @channelname). You can follow channels without subscribing to them on YouTube, so your subscription feed stays clean while you still get alerts from events, streams, or creators you only want to check occasionally.

Alerts. When a channel goes live, the app can play a sound, show a desktop notification, and optionally open the stream in your browser. You choose how often to check (1–120 minutes) and whether to show live-only, uploads-only, or both on the Monitor tab.

Channel management. Add, edit, and remove channels anytime. Your list and settings are stored locally. Export and import let you back up or move your setup to another machine.

Subscription. A small optional subscription unlocks extra features: upload notifications (sound, desktop, auto-open), the “recent uploads” view on the Monitor for your channels, and startup options (launch with Windows, start minimized to tray).

Data Management

Important: Channel list and options are stored locally. Live and upload notification state lives in live-monitor-state.json (user-data folder). Export backs up channels and settings checkboxes.

Clears which streams you were already alerted for (live-monitor-state). You can be notified again for streams that are still live.
